Schools In Transition:  Created in 2015, this is the best resource to date for supporting transgender students in K-12 schools.  This guide highlights best practices while offering strategies for building upon and aligning them with each school’s culture.

TransActive Gender Center: An internationally recognized non-profit focused on serving the diverse needs of transgender (TG) and gender nonconforming (GNC) children, youth, their families and allies.

Trans Youth Equality Foundation: Provides education, advocacy and support for transgender and gender non-conforming children and youth and their families.

PFLAG Transgender Network: Support organization specifically for transgender people, their families and friends. Special Affiliate chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).

Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)The original ally organization started by one mom publicly supporting her gay son. Now 40 years later it is a vast network made up of parents, families, friends, and straight allies uniting with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people.   

Human Rights Campaign – Welcoming Schools: an LGBT-inclusive approach to addressing family diversity, gender stereotyping and bullying and name-calling in K-5 learning environments. 

Camp Aranu’tiq:  An organization dedicated to building confidence, resilience and community for transgender and gender-variant youth and their families through traditional camping experiences.

Transforming Families:  Located in Minneapolis, MN, this is an inclusive and safe space for families with transgender and questioning youth to come together as a community that promotes self-awareness, resources, and visibility through advocacy.

TransFamily of Cleveland:Excellent family support site. Newsletter, couples, spouses, parents, and youth discussion e-lists. Hundreds of members from all over the world.

MermaidsFamily support for children and teenagers with gender identity issues in the UK.

National Transgender Law InstituteTransgender legal affairs activist site. Weekly announcements of changes in state or federal law affecting trans people.

The Trevor ProjectLeading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth. 

Gender Creative Kids: Providing resources for supporting and affirming gender creative kids within their families, schools and communities, based in Canada.
